Odd question I know, but I need to pay for a car, so need to know how much I can draw out per day. Any ideas? I can go into the bank to draw money out, but I need to be able to draw out 3k by Friday! Whoops!

You should be able to get 3k over the counter on the day. Much more than that and you might have to give them a day's notice if it's a small branch.

£3K shouldn't be a problem, just make sure to take some extra ID.

My account with Natwest is limited to 250 a day from cash-points but if you go into a branch you can take out more. If you phone ahead, you can take out however much you want. I took out 16k to buy my car in one lump.

Depends on many things, like if it's your 'local' branch, whether your account manager has any balls etc. I spent an hour arguing about taking out 1200GBP frown

If you have the money in your account, and you turn up with suitable ID, then as much as you like (within reason!)

Give them a ring beforehand, let them know roughly when you'll be in, and it'll be fine.

I used to work for NatWest, and it was common for people to withdraw a lot more than that. Just polite to let them know - depends how big your branch is as to how much "spare" cash they have available.

We had one guy pay in over £45k cash - apparently he'd just sold his Porsche!

Just take ALL the ID you own - passport, driving license, obviously your card, utility bills, the works. They won't want it all, but it can't hurt!

I withdrew £33K at a "strange" branch. Just rang my own branch a couple of days before and got them to arrange it. Small branches might not hold enough for a large transaction.

I needed a couple of grand the other day and had popped into a branch of Natwest the day before to check that there would be no problem with this (and to check on any addition ID requirements). I was told anything upto around £20k would not generally be a problem. This was a relatively large branch but I was quite surprised at that.

Dunno.

I can get 1k per day from a cashpoint (Lloyds TSB Premier Account) and pretty much whatever I want from a branch.

Especially if I tell my personal banker who goes by the fabulous name of Steve Wright.

I struggle to keep a straight face and have to fight back an urge to scream "Uzi Nine Millimterrrr" whenever I see him.

Use telephone banking - tell them how much you want and which branch you want to pick it up from.

Tell them tomorrow (or even tonight if they're still open) and you can pick up as much as you like from the branch on Friday.

Alternatively take the seller with you to a branch (so they know its genuine) and get a bankers draft for him.
