Run away...

Big thanks to George Williams for this week's POTW. We're sure you'll all agree its a great picture - particularly as, looking at the ominous cloudscape above, George must have been in a bit of a rush to take the snap and get the roof back up!
We hope you enjoy this cracking desktop, and take a look at George's website for some more top-notch pics.

The car is a Chesil Speedster (got a 1.8l beetle engine and a beetle chassis) that has recently been resprayed and lightly restored.

Note headrests and wind-up windows not removable sidescreens.
Looks lovely though.

George
Not a Tygan then? ETS: and yes, I wasn't knocking it either - especially when you compare prices between a replica and a real one!

Odd how a Chesil is 'acceptable' but an MR2 355 isn't.

I think its down to the fact the Chesil is built car from the ground up mostly and uses more period parts except where you want to make it better. It also looks exact. An MR2 355 is just an MR2 with a bodykit stuck to it. Lots of repsect for the work, but it will never be anything more than that. Cobra's are another good example. A Dax Tojeior (sp?) is a pirpose built car in the image of the original, but thats as far as it goes. It is a car in its own right.
