German JLR Tuner To Tackle New Mini

Established tuner Arden to provide performance mods for new Cooper S

Another day, another story of German tuning company excess, but instead of the usual range of tweaked Audis, BMWs and Mercs, Arden has turned its hand to modifying the Mini.

Ok, so it’s still German in origin, but Arden has more than 25 years of experience in turning out fettled Jaguars and Land Rovers, instead of its home-grown German talent.

Arden’s first Mini-based tuning project is a Cooper S performance kit based on the company’s own entry into this year’s Mini Challenge series. The kit will take its inspiration from the Challenge car and its senior driver E.Pirro, who is a multipe winner of the race series' "Gentleman Driver" class for the over 50s.

The company hasn’t given any indication of the performance boost their tuned Cooper S will get, but there will be a range of performance add-ons including sports suspension, sports exhaust and custom designed Arden alloys.

Arden will also go to work on the car’s interior, which is likely to be covered in high quality leather with wood and carbon fibre trim.

As 'Abarth' is to Fiat so 'Arden' is to Mini.

Big wheels, exhausts, suspension - so Max Power....

Snore.

Er no.

Abarth is a divison of Fiat.

Arden is a bloke in a shed.
