Audi Design Study Promises Radical Future
Is this the future of Audi car design?
With car design rapidly heading down the route of the ‘green car mould’ where vehicles get increasingly aerodynamically-optimised rooflines to reduce drag, this sporty looking Audi concept makes a refreshing change.
Part of a design study by students at Munich University in collaboration with Audi, this future mobility concept is more rally Audi Quattro than frugal Chevy Volt, which is no bad thing.
Students were asked to create a sporty but socially responsible design that was easily identifiably as part of the Audi stable. Eleven future concepts were created in total as part of a book on the project. Students received support and guidance from Audi’s own design team, and were mentored throughout the project by design bosses Stefan Sielaff and Wolfgang Egger.
'The next generation of employees is our future. Each concept, each model, contains at least one idea or feature that we could certainly conceive of as being included in a future production vehicle. The results are impressive,' says Egger.

I like it (although the front takes some getting used to).
THAT's THE FRONT?

It is refreshing though! I'm not a fan of most new car lines these days.
ETA: Just read this: "Students were asked to create a sporty but socially responsible design that was easily identifiably as part of the Audi stable." yet several of us immediately thought Stratos.
