Golf GTI Gets Power Boost

Mcchip GTI goes faster with 250bhp and stripey top

With the ever increasing kerb weights of modern cars, the 210bhp in the new Volkswagen Golf GTI doesn’t seem all that much. That’s why tuner Mcchip has created an ECU flash to raise the output of the GTI to over 250bhp.

The ECU remap adds an additional 42bhp and 74lb ft of torque, increasing the GTI’s outputs to 252bhp and 280lb ft.

Mcchip is also planning a sports suspension kit, that will lower the car’s ride height thanks to the installation of H&R springs. A set of black OZ 19-inch alloys will also be added to the upgrades list along with the option of ‘racing stripes’ in a choice of colours.

Prices for the Mcchip upgrades start at €849 (£750) for the ECU remap, that can also be carried out on the VW Scirocco. The Mcchip GTI will be unveiled at Tuning World Bodensee in Germany that starts on 30 April.

£750 to flash the ECU with copied software is outragous. A mug and his money are soon parted.

Its possible - several articles have a "cut and paste" feel about them - with a bit of PH towers rewording

Stupid, a full remap with a good tuner you are looking at £300-£400.

Why exactly would people get their new GTi remapped by this company ... and ignore Revo, APR, APS, Custom Code, Superchips, GIAC and the many others that are all well known in the UK and will no doubt be doing remaps for this car very soon after it appears .... and all for I bet considerably less money than this company is asking ....in some cases I would guess half !

There having a laugh charging people £750 for the ECU re-map. Revo Technik can get the same Bhp for £500, Jokers.
