Pic of the Week: Lola Aston Martin

Le Mans never looked so interesting

This week Aston announced it was to enter three cars at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours, so whilst we countdown the days until motorsport's greatest endurance spectacle we thought we'd give you a POTW to get you equally excited about Gaydon's latest Le Mans mile-muncher.

This snap shows the LMP1 Lola Aston Martin car that is currently romping through the field in the Le Mans Series. The instantly-recognisable orange and 'Gulf blue' paint makes spotting Aston's entries a doddle, but after an impressive victory in the opening round at Barcelona and a podium finish at Spa you need only look to the front of the pack to find the most exciting petrol powered car in the pack.

So, as things begin to heat up ahead of Le Mans '09, we hope you can enjoy this gorgeous car on your desktop in all of its fly-spattered glory.

Much as I love the super high speed le mans racing, the cars definitely hit every branch on the way down...

The aesthetic quality of these cars (and all things really) depends upon the tastes, experiences and perspective of the commentator. It's a very personal thing with all view points as valid as the next. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

...but, your wrong. These cars look bloody brill.

I just asked the boss if she liked the new wall paper on her lap top. She said "it doesn't even look like a car, it looks like a space ship". Doesn't need any further endorsement in my book.

Looks like a great free ad for Porsche if you ask me. Gulf colours are synonymous with that brand.

I agree; Gulf colours just shout 'GT40' to me.

And now Aston Martin!

So, what. Be a bit more flexible in your mind, guys!
