Hi all, anyone on here reccomend me a good vw dealer in south wales please???

i phoned up lastweek about a special offer they were running all this week from 4-7pm regarding testdrives, which was on their internet site, strangly the salesguy knew nothing about it till i informed him of it and he looked at it and found it himself, so he took my name and number i booked an appointment for today, to testdrive the roc and golf gti. also said to him any probs if you can let me know, yh no problem he said.

so i get to the dealers at 5.30pm finished work early got there went to reception asked for my contact to find out he wasnt in.

ok can someone else help me, over comes another salesman, asks me what i had arranged told him and he said slight problem, i cant take you out as im the only one here, and we have no demo roc it was sold last week, plus cant take u in the golf as i cant leave the showroom, also its a bit late for testdrives.

i told him that on their website they had a special event to drive the roc and golf gti aswell as others from 4-7pm and this is the time that i arranged with the guy.

he then asked if i am available tommorow, to which i replied possibly but i said u havnt got a demo anyway..

i then walked out and said dont worry.

tbh im really really dissapointed ive never had or used vw before and if this is the service you get perhaps i should go for a different make of car.

i thought dealers would be biting your hand off to try and sell cars not this.

im very tempted to put a letter in to the dealer principal stating all this.

what a complete waste of my time, how can they hold an event without a demo???

It sounds like a case of bad luck. Don't be put off and try ringing them again, if it persists, go A-WOLbiggrin

It sounds like the usual rubbish service from VW dealers, don't worry.

Can't expect them to actually put some effort into selling a VW; "they just sell themselves"

I phoned the Newark dealer the Wednesday after the Rocco was released/available for a test drive. They said Yes we have one in, pop over. So I drive 15 miles to the dealer, no Roccos.
"Oh, the sales manager is off today and he took it with him"
"It's only been on sale 3 days! Do you have another?"
"Of course not"

VW dealers are crap - there pushy and arrogant, one told me he was too busy 'if your busy come back, will book you in' basically he thought i didn't have the money, so i came back armed with a bank statement, all of a sudden best mates - wke*s!

OP - was this the dealer in GLC territory? - I've had very poor experiences with them.

The Merthyr dealer isn't much better and the Cardiff one said they'd get their fleet sales guy to call me, but he never did.

Best dealership I've dealt with is the VW in Swindon (Mann Egerton). Have always had brilliant customer service from them. I know it's not South Wales but 60-odd miles is not that far.
