The late sixties was a special period for American cars, especially when it came to styling.
So out of the following, which is your favourite muscle car, mainly on the basis of styling....?

1970 Dodge Challenger

1969 Ford Mustang

1967 Pontiac GTO

1969 Pontiac GTO

1967 Chevy Camaro

1969 Dodge Charger

Nice to see the GTO 'get some love' too.
I almost got one of those. This is all very interesting- to see how many people agree when it comes to something as subjective as styling!
I would have expected the Charger to get more hits.
Chargers seem to be cheaper than Challengers over here and Goats are even cheaper, now I'm understanding why I guess.....

Chargers are better to drive than Challengers, the GTO is better than both, but the Charger is one of the ultimate examples of muscle cars from back then, especially in 440 guise, the Hemi was an awesome motor but high maintenance, the 440 just got on with it and was not far behine in performance, close enough that a well cared for one would show the Hemi the way home, a well tuned Hemi however was a different animal altogether.

Best all rounder may have been the Chally T/A though, 340 small block, 6 pack carb set up, tough 4 speed etc, fantastic car.

Lets be perfectly honest though, we would be happy with any of those on the list hehe

If it was my own money, id buy the 69' charger, just because ive wanted one for years (and i might want to fit a CB radio and paint it orange boxedin) but the challenger is the most beautiful.

Love these

Got to be one of the most desirable muscle cars, probably the most expensive too.

I found the Charger a bit more soggy than the Challenger.

Yeah if you pop onto the US ebay, some go for over 700k dollars! they only made a couple hundred IIRC, based on dodge charger/challenger. Seriously cool, not much else could get away with such a silly large spoiler biggrin

Don't forget the "beep beep" Road Runner horn. Strangely enough, the new lighter 5L engine for the Mustang is called "Coyote" hehe.

That one is neither wink It based on a Plymouth Road Runner smile The Charger Daytona is very similar though. I heard somewhere that the spoiler was only that big so the boot could be opened?!

I would have most of those listed, but on the poll it's gotta be the Challenger....

As long as it's the Hemi

I do, but I didn't think about it when I was posting the poll.
I probably wouldn't have considered a Cuda over a Challenger.
However I love the GTX and Road Runner, even the 1970s one with the funny chrome mouth bumper!
