Paint protection film - which product is best?
Discussion
Have a go with the search function. I cannot remember the names, but there are a couple that get mentioned as good and a guy at one of the places who gets named. Ferrari forum also has plenty on this subject. If you are worried about chips, there are a few other exposed places that get hit first such as bonnet, rear arches ahead of wheels etc.
I had a new black paint job on my 993 and got everything forward facing covered (bonnet, splitter, wings front and rear etc) by the guy/company I cannot remember name of (sorry!). I think it was best part of a grand, but that was a lot of the car and it was fitted by them. You can tell it has film on it as you get a slight "orange peel" look that I think is tricky to avoid. I'm still in two minds as to whether I did the right thing.
Less to worry about if just doing splitter/bumper, but you might get a two tone look if the bonnet gets dinged and the splitter is pristine. If you are tracking it you will get pinged more.
