What a prat!!!

I was at work today and there was a guy in a blue Chimaera pissing about ragging it around on the industrial estate. He looked like he was in a pair of overalls so I doubt it was his as there are lots of garages and trimmers etc where I work.
Anyway I was watching him out of my office window trying to get it sideways and hold it there and then all of a sudden he lost control of it. He managed to steady it but the rear snapped back the other way and he ploughed straight into a car driving in the other direction!
From what I could see he had pretty much ripped the front end off the Chim and had done some considerable damage to the Astra that he hit.
At this point I was really hoping it wasnt his car and that the owner was on his way to pick it up. If it had been my car I would of beat the guy half to death upon finding out what he had done to it!
Ok I'm done now lol. Just thought people might be interested.
Cheers

This is one of the benefits of an aftermarket ECU that you can program yourself.
If it goes in somewhere that they aren’t so used to driving TVR that it’s not a novelty, then it goes in with a special map.
Soft cut the rev limit at 2000 rpm and hard cut it at 2500rpm. Clear the max rpm memory so you can spot any abuse.

O/T: Ah! you work on Fords. Many years ago, my mate PDI'd one of the Last MK 2 RS2000's .Some sort of Mallard Green with brown Fish Nets.(God i'm showing my age).Anyroad we had a test route that we would use.We flipped a coin to see who would take out the Custom.i got the honour's.He took out one of the last Standard RS2000's (Both on 'W' Regs).Off we went screaming down the road neck and neck,i bottled out and went to the Bakers.About two hours later,he turned up on a Low Loader,it was one bent RS2000.Nothing to do with TVR's ,but your post did make me laugh.

There used to be a body shop in Essex (thankfully ceased trading now) that had a sprayer working for them with no respect for cars or their owners. I would often see him start customers' cars from cold and rev the b
ks out of them i.e. bouncing them off the limiter. There's some real aresholes out there!

Which may be why the engines of some cars have gone pop despite the owners swearing blind that they've treated them properly.........

There was a similar case 2 or 3 years ago of a main dealer in the north west whose young sales person (IIRC) at the end of the day was seen ragging the backsides of some TVRs parked outside to put them away at night. I now wouldn't touch them with a bargepole (the dealer, not TVRs!), not for any car.

My security map doesn't let the engine rev above 1k rpm, full, no need for soft and hard cut offs, you're only able to idle If it goes in somewhere that they aren’t so used to driving TVR that it’s not a novelty, then it goes in with a special map.

Thats my greatest worry about leaving my car with a garage... someone thinking hmm let me go for a quick spin... which then turns into a 360 degree one
Happened to my Griff.. the apprentice took it for a test drive.. luckily before I bought it.. I am paranoid too...for good reason.Photo taken a the panelbeaters
