World Exclusive! Bugatti Four-Door Glimpsed
Seen a fuzzy tail-lamp image on other websites? Now PH reveals the entire backside of the brand new Bug!
Where do you go next once you've created the fastest, most exclusive production road car the world has ever seen?
The answer partly lies with this enigmatic teaser image that PistonHeads' spies have managed to get their hands on, and which forms the cover of an invitation to an event due to take place at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
Bugatti is celebrating its 100th anniversary at this year's Frankfurt show, so something big is to be expected, and this could be it.
The image - the clearest yet seen of the mystery Bugatti - reveals what could be anything from a traditional saloon to a fastback super-saloon to a full-on shooting brake-style estate. We're not quite clever enough to work that out, but the picture does reveal a Veyron-esque curve to the upper part of the boot line, and the vertical brake light is reminiscent of the twin air intakes that run along the roofline of the Veyron.
Otherwise, the new car is a real break from the norm, especially with the dramatic shape of the rear lights, and the eight exhausts which may imply the car shares the Veyron's W16 engine. Or perhaps not!
The new car is likely to appear at Frankfurt as a concept, but a production version is almost certain to share a large proportion of its underpinnings with the forthcoming Bentley Arnage successor, the new 'Grand Bentley', as they both form part of the VW Group stable.
Word reaching the ears of PH suggests that the new Bugatti could be called the 'Bordeaux' - though we rather hope its final name will be something a little more fitting of its exotic roots and likely price tag. A Bugatti Pétrus, perhaps...

Ok, yes it's the same pic but PH has the 'original' not a 'fuzzy copy'.
