I've never thought swans paddle around in the sea, salt water and all that, but there was one this morning off Shoreham. Do they normally do this?

They prefer drinking fresh water though. Understandable I suppose.

... the ones down by Hove Lagoon had a thing a few years back of drowning ducklings. It made for an 'entertaining' morning listening to parents trying to explain that to their toddlers.

I lived on Shoreham Beach for 16 years on the harbour side, and frequently saw swans on the river. I still see them now whenI visit my folks who still live there.

Whereabouts did you see the one in the pic?

I'd love to see a turf/water war between some swans and seaguls.
