Since the demise of Driver's Republic, there has been much speculation about where these guys will end up. There has been talk of returning to EVO and Autocar - and even talk of them starting their own magazine or a reinvention of the DR web-zine concept.

Anybody got any info about where they'll pop up next? I'm very much looking forward to reading and viewing more of their content. I just hope that DR's demise hasn't left them up sh*t creek without a paddle.......

Chris does have a fantastic collection of cars - so no, I don't feel sorry for him there! I just wondered if they will pop up again in the motoring press soon - they're among the best "enthusiast" journos out there (along with Sutters and Henry Catchpole).

I just hope they get a new gig soon...

Just had a chat with a dealer who knows Pete Tomalin and apparently some of the DR guys are due to return to Evo. No word on who, but it seems like some of them will definitely be back.

be good if they head back to evo - i really used to enjoy reading their articles, esp bovingdon. evo seems to have been a bit "samey" for me recently - a lot of articles from the same guys so it wouldnt suprise me if they went back.

Evo should take back Bov, Meadon and bring in Harris aswell. Then keep Catchpole and Barker, get shot of everyone else including that muppet Marriage - job done.

Then I may even consider subscribing to evo again.

Don't want to spoil the party, but I'm afraid I've been misquoted. Speaking entirely personally, I'd love to have a chance to work with the guys again, but that's as far as it goes. It's entirely out of my hands anyway. No decisions have been made as far as I know, so any speculation is exactly that.

That was exactly the disclaimer I forgot to add to my post – apologies Peter!

EVO needs to do something to get my sub again and I echo the above. I don't bother buying it any more.

I can't see any of them walking back into their previous jobs. Their posts have been filled. What are evo going to do? Sack the latecomers on the basis that their predecessors fancy their jobs back?

I can't see there being room for them to join the existing team either - even if they could dream up enough outlandish titles for them. Is there anyone at evo who isn't a chief-sub-editor-at-large of some sort?

Three very good car journalists indeed. I do hope that we get to read their reviews again soon.

Well personally, I hope there's some truth to the speculation. EVO used to be "The Bible" for all enthusiasts. Sadly, it's a shadow of it's former self and really suffers without Jethro and Dickie on the team. If Harris joined EVO as well, it'd be awesome. Just need to get rid of some of the also-rans (Marriage, Vivian and Simister), keep Catchpole, Peter T, and Barker - and EVO would have a dream journo team.

What's wrong with him? I think he's pretty good actually. I usually enjoy the articles written by him and Catchpole.

If they need funding, or publishing help for a new venture then please get in touch as passion is very good for business, nothing too leftfield just a nice magazine....
