I'm after some choice accessories for my Landy. Does anyone know of a decent place to get such things as steering gaurds, roof racks, A-bars etc. Also, what I'm after more than anything is a good place to get some cheap mud-pluggers and wheels. I had to be recovered yesterday having got myself firmly stuck in a rut. Getting stuck was one thing, but being recovered by what looked like a Suzuki Vitara - the shame of it! I later learnt that it was in fact a Range-Rover chassis, but you can't tell that from the photo's so it's going to take some living down.

I would also appreciate any comments on what are good tyres to have for off-roading. I'm planning on buying a full set of tyres and wheels to be used exclusively for off-roading, so on-road manners don't really count for that much, so long as they can get me 60 miles or so to wherever I'm going.

Any feedback would be good.

Steering guards and A-Bar I would look at Simmonites and ServiceTune, I got said items from ServiceTune. Roof Rack can be picked up from Paddock spares and Famous Four to name two.

BF Goodrich Mud Terrains, can't vouch for them enough, I had mine on a set of white 8 spokes which are nice cheap wheels. The tyres are truely fantastic, the grip in thick, deep, gloopy mud was amazing, I drove into a deep pool of it, and straight out of the other side up a mashed up bank. However, they are a wee bit pricey and there other (cheaper) tyres on the market like remoulds.

Your best bet is to buy some past issues of LRO Magazine, in particular......

Back issues are available at £4.29 per issue or for some beer money if you find a nice person that wants to lend/give you the issues.

The BF Goodridge MT are a good tyre, but if your on a budget, the Colway MT Remould has a virtually identical stud pattern and are much cheaper.

I only paid £26/tyre for mine.

I can also vouch for the Colways - have ATs on the RaRo (235/70x16s) and they are a great comprimise between off road ability and on road comfort. If you're going to have a second set of rims then go for the MT pattern and save a fortune over the BFG price!
