Brake lights intermittent

I have a 1994 Chimaera. It will go in for MOT next month but the brake lights only work occasionally, even when stamping hard on the brakes. I have fixed these lights before (when actually they stopped working due to a wiper/fuse issue) but the wipers still function and park normally so it may be something else. Any ideas?

Have you looked at the actuator switch on the brake peddle?

Brake light Switch Original white plastic item no longer made but found this replacement, much neater and better quality.Intermotor part# 031E (51460) Peugeot 205 '83-'87 £5.48 +VAT

I'd check the switch on the brake pedal then the multi connector behind the left panel to the side of the passenger seat

I've just had the same issue and it was the pedal switch.

Nothing to worry about, he's halfway through a headlight conversion
