German Autobahn roadworks
Discussion
Ladies and Gentlemen ,
just a quick heads-up to anyone travelling to Germany over the next few weeks . There are extensive and frustrating roadworks and contraflows around Stuttgart / Munich and up the western motorway network in general ; allow extra time , especially if you`re racing for the ferry !

In my view, something of a no-news post, if I may say so.Experienced autobahners will know the A8 Stuttgart to Munich
is always busy.
It's about three hours at any vaguely legal speed from
the nearest bit of Germany to Calais and the Channel ports.
The Autobahn work crews are workaholics - they are always
operating somewhere on the existing network, widening and
resurfacing, when they are not building new autobahn.
