How long does it normally take for a speeding ticket from a mobile camera van to come through?
It's been 2 weeks now and nothing.

Are likely to get one?

I thought I would be getting one.
I was following a Picasso that was doing 40mph, when it came to a straight bit of road I pulled out to pass. When I pulled out to pass the stupid bint sped up to 60. I could see the camera van but there was trafic behind us so I thought it would be safer to pass rather than try to pull back in to where I was. I was doing 72mph in full view of the camera van but i did slow down to 60 again as soon as i was clear of the Picasso.

I assume the limit was 60.

Options:

1)Camera couldn't get your number plate due to overtaking position and the other car
2)Camera wasn't operating at the time
3)Operator saw what happened and evaluated the situation to be non-dangerous and not worthy of an offence (even though the better part of valour would have been to cancel the overtake!)
4)You'll get a ticket though a little late for the 14 calendar day response time

It has been over 14 calendar days since the NIP could have been served so if you do get one, check the date it was served as the date of postage is apparently not evidence against the ticket.

It's probably safe to say you won't get a ticket.

The date of service is the day the Postman actually sticks it through the OPs door. He will need to check the date of issue as if that was on Day 14 or later after the offence then proving it was late is far easier.

If it does arrive in the next few days the OP needs to be prepared to tell the Scamera Partnership it was not served on time, and ideally produce a witness to that effect.

Mind you all this assumes the OP is the Registered Keeper of the vehicle and has provided correct address details to the DVLA.

Are you the registered keeper or is it a company/hired vehicle?

I know, but it's not impossible. Improbable, yes. Not impossible!
