Ferrari 599 'China Limited Edtition'

A dozen HGTE-based special editions set sail for China

Just 12 China Limited Editions will be made

Ferrari has unveiled a special version of its new 599 HGTE, one that's been specifically designed for the Chinese market.

It's called the Ferrari 599 China Limited Edition and features bespoke design touches courtesy of Chinese artist Lu Hao.

Hao's Sino-centric flourishes include ancient 'Xiao Zhuan' characters instead of Arabic numerals on the rev counter, luggage featuring a map of the Silk Road trade route, and a starter button that glows jade green.

"A bit of T-cut'll get that out"

Ferrari is making just a dozen examples so, while there might be nine million bicycles in Beijing (at least so says Katie Melua), the 599 China Limited edition will be a somewhat rarer sight.

One of the dozen, hand-finished by Lu Hao himself in a cracked-glaze porcelain paint effect, will be auctioned for charity in Beijing on 3 November.

Going by past Ferrari prices in China, you'd have to really have money to burn to get one.
Imported luxury car prices in China are nearly twice that in Europe !

It does look nice though !

Am I the only one who thinks that "cracked-glaze porcelain" effect looks fcensoredking ste! and those wheels ruin it a little too... they look like 7 bottle openers welded together, then chromed!

I'll bet 50 quid we'll see a cracked-glaze porcelain effect Vauxhall Corsa on barryboys before Christmas.

Quite like it though.

Yeah, I remember "translating" the price on a new Boxster, and coming up with something like £180k, then thinking I can't be reading it right, so start again, and it turns out I AM reading it right!

I was going to start exporting old Jap cars out of Thailand, Cedric coupes, Celicas, Skylines>'76 etc, and have a bit of a classic Jap/drift thing happening here but the 200% export tax kind of put me off!?

Me too and I usually hate two tone cars. I wonder what it would look like if the top was all black with the tinted windows? Photoshop anyone?
