Front drivers side, creaks over speedbumps (bushings?) but then over roughish roads/potholes it also knocks dully from the same side.

At 70mph+ the car does not veer
The steering doesnt shake
When braking in a straight line (hands off wheel) the car doesnt pull- stays true.

So I can go into a garage with a fair understanding- what could it be? anti rollbar replacement would be alot more than just bushings I imagine!?!

antiroll bars dont really wear, its essentially a metal bar that twists. Its most likely bushes, i'd get underneath and check the condition of all the front suspension bushes

As Hugo says, ARB's themselves don't wear (though they do occasionally break), but the droplinks that connect them to the rest of the suspension and the bushes they are mounted to the chassis on certainly do. Worn droplinks in particular will produce a knocking noise as the wheels run across bumps and surface imperfections, which could be what you're describing.

Trouble is, other worn components in the suspension and dampers can produce similar noises, and diagnosing noises over the internet is notoriously difficult!

It can be a slight hint that it's the ARB droplinks if the knocking noises disappear when your cornering ('cos when cornering, the ARB is being twisted and any 'slack' in worn droplinks will be taken up), but it's far from foolproof, so you'd be better off getting all suspension and ARB joints and buishes inspected for wear, as suggested above.

Offside front drop link quite worn (replaced) as well as both front bushes. It creaked on full lock in the supermarket carpark tonight- just bedding itself in or something I might need to pop back and they need to regrease do FOC?
