Just moved over from a TVR to a new V8 Vantage roadster in Tempest Blue and looking at swapping the rear lights to clear LED.

Anyone done this and approx price, hopfully fit myself?.

And before you ask I could post pictures on PH if I knew how.

Rick at DMS did mine. Not everyones choice (the lights, not Rick biggrin ) but I love them. They come with a grey edge which matches in well with my colour.IMHO

Really not as straight forward as it appears. Because he is a perfectionist he spent ages, opening up on a Saturday too, ensuring they lined up correctly. He obviously has to buy the replacements in so its do or die. You get to keep the originals so when you sell your buyer also has a choice. Rick was meticulous getting the original coloured middle insert off without creasing. I would give Rick a call and discuss if I were you.

I have never understood the dislike for clear rear lights. Its neutral for any colour combination. I have always felt the same way about brake calipers - ideally they should match the car. I know yellow brake calipers on a porsche signify carbon brakes but on an aston understated is best. The clear lights work for me.

I agree its all about the overall colour combo and balance. I have an onyx black car with silver wheels, silver calipers, bright grille, black interior with silver stitching - so clear (silver) rear lights look right to me and far better than red does. If however I had red stitching and red calipers then I would have opted for red rear lights.

Clear lights dont always look better just for the sake of being clear, however with the colour combo they can enhance the looks.

One needs to correctly coordinate and accessorise! smile
(hahaha - cant imagine ever getting away with that statement in the porsche forums where I used to post!)
