You will have seen the article about the Bufori on the home page. Just for interest for all here, the guy that runs the company bought all the old stock of Chimaera bits when the Malaysian factory packed up. I visited the Bufori factory early this year whilst working in KL and it was pretty amazing to see bare Chim bodies, moulds & chassis & jigs stacked up.
The design of the Bufori cars is obviously up for discussion but one thing that isn't is the quality of construction - they do some pretty decent stuff with all carbon fibre bodywork.
Going back to the TVR stuff, I have pics and an inventory of the all they have (had - they were cutting up the bodies...). I did discuss bringing it all in with the guys at TrackvRoad but the view seem to be that it would be barely worth the shipping cost to do so, amongst other things. I've never posted pics on here but if someone wants to do that for me I will zip them & send them across.
Cheers

Its the TVR version of a barn-find. A 40' container is only US $3,000 or thereabouts, so surely it must be worth it to somebody. You would get many of those chassis' and some of the body parts left into one hi-cube let alone the jigs......... TVR Carparts

Are they going to make TVRs? Otherwise they should be returned to those who can use them.

NO NO NO NO NO. Think what the love child will look like. Seriously, the tooling and any small parts that were custom made for TVR need to come home. Any chance of finding out what differences the cars had for the tropical climate? These may have better cooling, heaters and stuff. It might give useful ideas.

Keep up at the back I've already said that..... V8 GRF said: OMG I hope that one trying to mate with the Chim wasn't successful. could you imagine what the offspring would look like? I would have thought that it would be easier to make new jigs and tooling than import and fix those. Any moulds will be shot now.

Some of those Bufori roadsters look suspiciously like a Beauford.

Do they still have much in the way of trim components/engines etc?
Probably not worth shipping back to the UK but I'm wondering if they could be a good source of parts for the Malaysian built Chimaeras/all the personal imports that have ended up here in Australia.
Would be interested in seeing that inventory of what they've got.
Cheers
