Is a tvr an option? Or stick to german machinery?

I currently have a boxster S, which is great, but thinking about changing soon. Would have about £20k +/- a bit to spend. I was wondering, are there any modern, reliable tvrs that would fit my budget?
I live in town, and park my car on a street (albeit a quiet street). I only use the car at wknds, really. A combination of 15mile journeys to the golf club and 100mile + journeys back to the west country.
Do any tvrs fit the bill? Or am I better off just sticking to german machinery?

It depends on a great many things:
1) How much money do you want to spend a year on maintenance? 2x boxter performance doesn't come cheap
2) Are you happy to leave something like a TVR in the street? I had my chim on street parking in London and I hated it
3) Do you like a car that you can just get in and drive, or do you want something a little more like a supercar?

As said, you have to decide what you really want it for. I have a Tamora and love it. Never owned a Boxter S but test drove one, and the difference in driver involvement between the two is massive.
You CAN get straight in the Tamora and drive it, but not hard until the oil is hot. But TBH shouldn't you do the same for any car?
15 mile trips are OK, I regularly do that distance into town and back again, but you won't get the benefit at those distances. You trip back to the West Country however will be a hoot!
You simply have to test drive one, do the numbers on consumption and servicing... then buy one regardless of the numbers! Pretty sure you would love the experience.

If you take the woods out of the bag you can get two bags of golf sticks in a Tamora boot.ETA - Woods will fit in too, just not in the bag.

To be honest, I think I'd feel ok parking a TVR on the street. I'm on a quiet one-way street, and there's plenty of other expensive stuff around. My boxster has never been touched (touch wood). I used to live on Charlotte St in the West End of London...that was a pain to park on. It's a busy and narror street, with limited parking. People all seemed to "touch park" there. You'd get a new ding or scratch every 6-8 weeks or so.
Presumably TVRs are ok to leave outside then? Also, the speed six engine...I hear that's moved on a little from the hideous reliability stories that plagued it a few years back.
Re running costs, I'm not fussed about mpg. But would be curious to know what servicing costs are like. I know a TVR isn't going to be cheap to run, and I don't mind paying up...so long as the car runs reliably when I get in it on a Saturday morning.
(BTW. I need to sell my boxster before I can buy anything. Does anyone know anyone that is interesed? It's an 03 plate in Lapis Blue with 47k miles. Good spec (Bose, 18" alloys, full leather etc). Full PSH. Last serviced May 09, full geometry June 09. Has 4 new Goodyear asyms and Tesco Finest warranty until May 2010...)

If I may add my $0.02. If you've got a Boxster, you will like the practicality and reliability. The Tamora and T350 have the practicality, but I'm not sure if i can ever trust a Speed 6 motor (unless it's had a full rebuild). Personally, I'd get a Chim, probably 450, and supercharge it. It costs a few grand, but you can get a cracking Chim450 for £12000, modify it, and have a car that is practical (that boot is massive), and also has over 400bhp.....but that'd be my choice.
