You wanted it for 25 years
You worked your ass off to buy it
You sold other stuff to get it
You've put a lot of work into it

Unless you can't afford to keep it anymore, or you want something even more then why would you sell it confused

if you dont need the money, why would you sell it?

some friends say "how do you justify £0000 being stood in the garage"

i say its no different from an art collector having an expensive painting hung on the wall, what pleasure do they get out of that?, no more than me going in the garage and looking at a piece of modern wheeled art

at least you can drive your car

dont sell

When I eventually do acheive my Countach dream, I simply can't imagine having to part with it EVER!

Keep it!

If you're not sure that you'd regret selling it, then you most likely will!

Why would you want to get rid of the best looking car ever made...?

Keep it unless you need the money or have been made such a stupid offer you can upgrade to something else and have money left over.

David

Every person I know who used to own a Countach and sold it to replace it with either another Lamborghini, another car or else some time, house, whatever have one thing in common.

Every last one of them really, really wishes they hadn't sold their Countach.

... that's every one of them, not just some - all of them.

It would be your choice or maybe it's selling is what's required of you but you would regret losing the car, even if there's more money in the car's current value than you could ever have imagined.

So, to recap - unless the alternative actually is starving to death in a drafty, soggy box just don't sell your Countach!!!

and fer fek's sake, send me a perfect format, hi-res picture of it for the 2010 calendar - as soon as you can, thank you very glad

Gosh everyone says the same thing, I'm pleased...it is a part of me and I still think it looks amazing like the day I first saw one and wanted one one day! I think well it could make life a little easier and no I'm not in need to sell...mates say sell it put money in the bank and have a fun car too..anyone who has a passion for these and similar cars say keep it. The market place for Lamborghini cars is growing and what I dont know or anyone else I guess knows is is this the top of the price band for the car and will next year see it drop a huge amount...My heart says keep it and my head says sell.....sorry to do this on here just I need to get it off my chest and for the first time someone has said they want it.

I prob will regret it if I sell....dave ill get a piccy for you. Countachman

My view; I waited and saved until i got one. It was the most expensiive thing I ever bought in my life, even dearer than my house ( which i bought in 1986). Spent a fortune on it since in sorting it. I drive it as it was intended as many times as it is possible to do so. It is still stunningly competent compared to others. Amazing but true. A mate witha F40 and 360CS was staggered by how many myths he debunked on one very hot drive!
Like you, the dilema, sell it now and make a small profit or wait and possibly they will depreciate!
I had mine away for a few months getting repsrayed and minor work being done. missed it a lot!
I have a maser Khamsin, Espada, 328GTS, X1/9 and a Barchetta. The advice i get from EVERYONE, trade included is, DONT sell the countach but sell everything else!
I do like the diablos 6.0, Ferrari 360CS and a multitude of other cars, but having been in them, yes they are better cars in many respects, but every time I look at the QV it just does it for me! It is THE most outrageous piece of automotive design that is still an icon to this day and i don't think anything else has the same impact, even the Muira!
Keep it and if you have the cash buy something else you can play with and sell!

Sometimes the reality does not match the dream,(especially a 25 year dream) and things are best left as dreams. Unfortunately you don't find this out until it is to late. The fact that you are even contemplating selling maybe suggests you might be having such thoughts. Sleep, on it and if these feelings don't go away, sell.If you then miss it like mad buy another. Chances are you won't. Not sure that helps much, but is based on my own experience with my dream car.frown

I'm facing the same dilemma... Ever since I saw the Diablo launch, I wanted one... Now I've had mine for 2 years, love it to death, invested a lot of money to make it more perfect than it was... But then comes the moment you see other cars you like, and as I can only afford one extra car (besides my daily driver)... What do you do?

In my case? Get another Diablo, but a special version? (SE30, SV, Roadster,...) Get a Gallardo Spyder (better to drive, more reliable, bla bla) or SuperLeggera? Or something completely different (Shelby Daytona Coupe for one...)?

I just don't know... Whenever I take the Diablo out for a drive, the grin-factor comes into play...

Only solution to be sure, is make lots more money and get another car next to the Diablo... Although I can't see that happening right now, I never thought I'd be able to get a Diablo almost 20 years ago...

So in short, I'd only sell it if I get a good offer, but I'm not actively marketing it...

Choices choices wink

Not entirely correct Mr. P. Whilst me and 'im indoors may have been sorry to see our Countach go, at no time have either of us thought, or even intimated, that we really, really wish we hadn't sold it. That might possibly be true if we hadn't replaced it with such a stupendous car as the GT, but as it stands, we have absolutely no regrets in making the change that we did.
