On www.sportingbears.org.uk check out the many events the Bears attend to raise money for Childrens Charities in the UK. The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power www.cpop.co.uk is on 17th and 18th July 2010 in Cheshire only a couple of weeks after the GFoS. It offers Classic Racing and Sports cars/motorbikes timed on a private circuit backed by powerboats on the lake, helicopters in the air and the odd tank battle. 2009 saw displays from JCB Dancing Diggers, Spitfire flyovers and Breitling stunt plane finished with the forces helicopter displays.
Once everyone has seen enough action with the display cars DO NOT TOUCH signs we are offering the public a passenger ride on the open roads near the estate for circa 10 miles in a Dream Car. There are no driver expenses or reward apart from the biggest smile on the Passengers Face when they get out.

See the report on the Sporting Bears website to see the cars that helped this year and knowing some of these cars are unable to make 2010 due to work commitments I need some new cars to add to the mix and join the Sporting Bears for a weekend of fun (oh and rain sometimes!) in Cheshire.

This is listed as a Calendar Event on PH so email me and add your name to the Calendar to help with offers of cars, energy and wellies.

2009 we supported Children in the Army Benevolent Fund with 2010 Charity to be announced.

I don't see why not.... it's a way off yet (and I don't tend to have a clue what I'm doing a few days in advance, let alone months!), but it sounds good to me. Diary note added smile

Ditto

I've made a note in my diary, fancy a run down there!

I'm already a Sporting Bear, the Polars have fundraising events the weekend before and the weekend after that, so I'll have to see how the car "bears" up!

I'll be there again if the Le Mans Classic run a week before goes to plan. Even though the weather was comically poor when we arrived we all enjoyed the weekend.

Note to self - do not drive through the Peak District with a temperamental sat nav, go A38/A50 and you'll be fine.

Not when I've got a 3 year old in the Vette being followed by the missus in a fully loaded support car.....in the driving rain.....with HGV's playing chicken.....with a sat nav that loses it's signal. It was really hard going! And then when we arrived the rain REALLY started when we had to put the tent up! Roll on 2010!

Hello all, I am now starting to prepare the final cars for the second year of Sporting Bears Dream Rides at Cholmondeley Pageant of Power. I have several people returning from Lemans in cars and several going to the Classic in July so here's to gearboxes and engines keeping steady all the way back.

For those that attended last year and have already emailed to help again thanks, I will start to collate a cars list again so people can see what cars are available to take Dream Rides out in.

If you would like to get involved with a Dream Car to offer please email me and if you want to check out the event please look at CPoP event and check out Sporting Bears website where you can see the cars that attended last year.

see some of you at Supercar Sunday on June 27th Gaydon where Sporting Bears Dream Rides are again offered.

Thanks all, Max
