Hi
I have a Gallardo which is making an almighty grinding and cluncking noise when setting off and turning ( t juntions ). I have been told they make a noise when doing this but this noise is really bad and i dont believe its normall. Has anyone had any probs like this???
I had the same problem and it was easily fixed by adding a jaguar transmition adative to the gear box oil (as used by lamborghini)the noise is nothing to do with the drive shafts. However if you are talking about the noise you get when moving the car on full lock at low speed then there is no cure. Hi,
Thanks very much to all your help everyone !! The diff oil was changed and the driveshaft/hub bolts tightened ( bit slack ). This made it a little better but not fixed. It does not need to be a tight t junction to make the noise which also comes with a slight skipping motion from the rear. The noise comes from the rear too which i can only describe as a loud 'rrrrrah ' !! Its booked into lambo next week but thought someone might be able to save me some pennies !!

Thats definantly the same noise i had dont spend loads of money trying to find it as i did, just ask the dealer to add the addative it takes around 50-100 miles for it to take effect but once it has the noise is gone.I found out about the addative by ringing Lambo Edinburgh and speaking to one of the guys in the workshop iam sure if you do the same they will be able to give you the name of the additive,i did this over a year ago so cant remember.Just remember that it takes upto 100 miles for it to take effect, let me know how you get on.
Is the car a late 04?
If so, there have been issues in the past with noisy diffs, entering corners at low speed, especially on full lock and reverse.
Save yourself a huge chunk of money, take it to an independant, ask them to confirm the diff needs a rebuid, and get it done.
Lambo will charge you £££ for leterheaded paper, it is not a service stamp afterall...

I had exactly the same problem. Give Mike a call at Carrera sport. He knows what it is and how to get hold of it.
It's not cheap at around £100 I believe.
He put in some special "Lambo" additive into the diff.
It was so thick he had to heat it up beforehand to get it in! lol
100 miles later, noise completely gone.

My 2010 SL LP570 does the same, as did any other I test drove.......told its normal??
The steering is known to make some pretty horrid noises at low speed too. You'll need lubing up (sorry) when you're doing sub 20mph, with even slight steering input, and there's a grinding noise coming from the rear (I really should have phrased this better). On mine it was more noticeable on the passenger side.I had the diff lubricated at the last service and it's completely quiet now. To be honest, it sounds awful and it's not something I'd want to leave for any length of time.
