Hi all,

I recently purchased a T350 from down South which has been maintained by the previous owner at Str8-Six.

I'm looking for advice & opinions on where to get the car serviced, ideally I would like somewhere closer to home (Hexham, Drivestyle, SSCC) however if its worth travelling to Power or Str8-Six then I'm prepared to do so.

As always any negative comments via PM please.

Remember you also have two excellent service centres over in the NorthWest in X-Works service in Kirkham and TrackvRoad in Clitheroe.

Both highly recommended.

I live in the NE - try and do most of the work on my cars myself but can recommend Hexham HC and SSCC in boroughbridge (near harrogate/york).

Theres a new TVR specialist opened up in Selby...think its called Selby TVR strangely enough but havent used them...there has been some discussion on here about Harrogate HC/Drivestyle (personally I cant comment).

Other than 'good' local garages (ie non TVR specialists) its off further south to RT, Raceproved, Power or across west as stated above.

Ther is more in the north west than just these 2 but V8 GRF seams to forget the others. Just have to do your homework.

I would not hesitate to recommend Falcon Engineering (01642 915641):

Steve knows TVRs like the back of his hand, loads of experience with performace cars. They've done a magnificent job on ours (it's better now than when it came out of Blackpool 9 years ago). One of those rare finds - a workshop where you instinctively wipe your feet on the way IN.

I've no personal experience of Falcon, but have heard good reports.

For a T350, to preserve the value of any service history with the car, i would only recommend a know TVR specialist when it comes to the Speed 6 cars. As Pete says, you can not go wrong with Hexham Horsless or SSSC in Boroughbridge.

Just as an introduction, i'm the Regional Organiser for the North East TVRCC and please feel free to pop along to one of our next meetings and have a chat with the guys who have their cars serviced locally and can give you all the details you need. It'll be great to see your T350 too.

Feel free to PM me through Pistonheads.

Cheers

Paul

Sorry, yes there's also Brian Hosfield and Mike Vernon operating out of the factory on Bristol Avenue as well.

duff-man - I'd reccommend Selby TVR very very highly.

Theres a guy called Steve who works there and he's the most helpful patient man i've ever met.

I had my 12k service with valve clearences done there. He also talked me through changing the power steering fuse and main 100amp fuse over the phone for a good hour while i was doing them.

Top top service!

They are the only ones I have personal knowledge of, I don't recommend places I don't use.

I've always found Hexham to be very good. I travel down from the Edinburgh area...

The Northeast covers a lot of territory....so where do you actually live ?

I can recommend Falcon in Middlesbrough, for a non-specialist, and Selby TVR.

I've also used RTracing, but that's a long way to go.

I have used Automedon before and they were excellent - Blackpool. GreenStar TVR get good reports too, again, Blackpool. Realise not north east but closer than Power and much closer than Str8 Six.

Torque RVT i have heard only good things about too, Middlewich. GreenStar and Torque RVT are very competitively priced and with fabulous attention to detail by all accounts.

Seconded. Both HHC Hexham and SSCC are excellent.
