The swines. I have been struck down in my prime. The lumps and bumps are now making their presence felt.

But I was wondering.... would a beer or two cause me any problems?

I have no idea - has the Dr given you any anti-virals?

You have my sympathies - I had the pox two years ago - I have never been so ill in all my life and that includes hepatitis. Found out later that my Auntie died as a young adult with chicken pox.

If the spots are showing, you should be after the worst.

BTW - I found a moisturiser with Tea Tree oil which worked a lot better on the itching than calamine lotion. Also bicarb in the bath is good.

Unlucky mate, I know what you are going through I had them at 19 and it wasn't a nice experience, I hope you have a swift recovery.

As to drinking beer I've no idea but everything is always better after a beer though so it's worth a try.

I've had the flu-like symptoms over the weekend. That wasn't so pleasant. Feeling a lot healthier now, although my torso would suggest otherwise. I'm waiting for the face ones now.... my scalp is pretty bad, and some nasty ones on my jawline.

Still, better than that norovirus from a couple of years back - that was hell.

Sounds like you have got off likely - I had a touch of encephalitis - although I didn't know it at the time. The OH thought it was amusing that I was going ape at 3.00 am in the morning with a torch looking for bed bugs. The headache was unbearable - felt like my brain was in a vice.
