Fuel Sender

Hi All.
Ok who can tell me which fuel sender I have?, it bolts into the tank with 5 bolts NOT a snap ring.
Any help.

Sorry cant help, I would suggest that Neil at TVR Carparts might be able to help.

I suspect yours is an early car as the sender fitted to later cars had the five holes plugged and held in by a locking ring, as is Geralds, then superceaded by the middle type and the the lowest



I guess if you cant find a replacement then you might have to replace the tank (ouch)

Crap, just had the tank powder coated as well, It looks like the top one. I only have 1 wire and a earth going to it.

I think 250 ohms is about right - for 'full' resistance. So if it fits, it may work reasonably well.

Sorry - didn't realise I was on the 'S' forum - 250 is OK for Wedges that is.

Hi All.
Had a chat with TVR car parts and think I can do it with the latest one, just need to make a bolt on adaptor.
My fuel gauge is a programmable Gauge so it will work the sender.

Thanks for that Chris, I did look at that one but my gauge has a low warning light set at 1/8 tank volume.

I recall hearing something about the sender being from the old mini- can't confirm any more that that now - it might give a clue.

the one from carbuildersolutions can be mounted from top (vertical) also from side, as i´m searching a sender for a kitcar where it sits horizontal?

Hi All.
I am going to use the one from TVR car parts, I will make a aluminium ring to bolt onto the tank and sandwich the new one between with a bolt on locking ring and 2 gaskets.
Will put some pictures up when I have it made

Not sure but it looks very like a fuel sender from a Land Rover Defender 90" with a side 15 gallon tank. If you take what you've got to your local Land Rover dealer then they could show you one to see if it matches.

You may need to adjust the float position to suit, but it would save a lot of work making adaptors?

My fuel tank sender died. Living in the Netherlands a Defender 90 sender should be relatively easy to obtain. Can anyone confirm that this is the right one, as Bobhon stated.

A search on the internet reveals that the Landrover PRC8822 not only looks like the plastic TVR fuel tank sender but also has the same resistance range. Bought one (the wire needed some bending to fit in the TVR tank), installed it and yes it works.
