I'm just awaiting a new Carrera PDK gearbox to be fitted after mine deposited most of it's oil contents onto my garage floor.
The car has completed 900 very gentle miles.
Now the OPC have been pleasant enough to deal with but I wonder if anybody else is having similar problems with this new technology or am I just unlucky.

Out of interest, how did you know it's gearbox & not engine oil - I wouldn't have a clue.....
Good luck with getting it fixed.
Cheers
RS
The workshop manager of one OPC mentioned that they had one or two issues with earlier PDK boxes, though these problems seemed to be around delayed "pick up", not dumping oil.
I'd not be particularly worried I suspect the problem won't happen again and after all there aren't many PDK boxes out there yet, relatively speaking.
I'm hoping you have been lent a car at least as good as your own though and I'd expect to be seeing some sort of "sorry" gesture.

Just an update.
Porsche OPC still have my Car , now almost three weeks.
Apparantly the gearbox is in situ, but 'software' issues.
To say I'm unimpressed with the speed of progress, is an understatment.
I see a big bust up coming soon.
Any Legal eagles like to coment on unsatisfactory goods.

Transmission oil reaks, you'll know all about it if you get it on clothing (ask me how I know). Engine oil doesn't smell particularly.OP - hope you get it back soon...just take solice in the fact that it's been foul weather anyway this last few weeks...sorry, did I say weeks, meant months.
Not a lawyer but I do have some experience of lemons and returning them.
I think you would be quite within your rights to reject the car, however doing so is not like returning a jumper to Marks and Spencer. It can get messy. Though as it's a new car not THAT messy.
Jaw jaw is better than war war. If I were you I'd contact the dealer principal and politely tell him you are about to lose your sense of humour about the situation. Do the same with Porsche UK. I reckon you'll get your car fixed and be able to negotiate some compensation. Or they will OFFER to swap it.
I have rejected a car before and I got a new one. But it was a PITA. I have also been in the position of being able to reject a couple of cars and choosing not to. In the end it was a more satisfactory experience and I did well from the situations.

Have they leant you something?
Mine was in recently and I was given a Merc C180.....the biggest pile of cr*p I'd driven for a long time !Have they leant you something?
I think most OPC's are offering the above only now unfortunately, not many seem to offer a same make courtesy car anymore ?
Guys!
I have a December 2009 Cayman 2.9 with PDK which i bought new from Porsche Mayfair..after 1000 miles we noticed some oil leak..It was coming from the PDK and at that time I had my car in Greece,Porsche in Greece replaced the PDK which was under warranty.
Since then there are some issues that i noticed and I am not quite sure whether these were happening with the previous PDK transmission..(99% i think they were happening )
The transmission is always very balky and jerky in 1st & reverse and the clutch is somehow disengaged and there is a delay and some mechanical noises before the car finally gets it into gear.
my dad spoke to the Porsche service in Greece and they said that this is normal..My father actually tried one cayman and he said to me that the "noise" is similar..I havent tried another cayman by myself..the car is now with me in the uk.do I need to visit again the dealer??
Please help :-)
