Two questions. I`m thinking of putting a set of VELOCE wheels on a 997 Turbo. Do you think they will look OK? I don`t think the latest Porsche Turbo wheels are the best they have ever produced, but on the other hand, I don`t like things if they aint original! Help?
T`other question, doe`s anybody know of a wheel (X2) that dosn`t cost a fortune to use while the originals are away being fitted with tyres etc.? Thanks.

Have a look over on 6speedonline.com - Plenty of 997 Turbo's with after market wheels on.

I'm in the same dilemma with contemplating what wheels to put on mine.

Ill probably go with Techart as they are IMO as close to OEM your gonnna get.

Only thing that puts me off is the weight although the new Formula 3 in 20" fitment is lighter than hte factory 19" smile .

I had black techart formula's on mine as in my profile. Changed to 19" 997 gt2 wheels. They look good and although copies, perform well.

Please, please, please do not do Veloce... I don't care what anyone says these wheels are just rubbish (if it is these http://www.velocewheels.com/veloceXS/ )... there was a thread a few years back (might have been deleted now) where it was all kicking off here between customers and owner I'm positive... I looked at these wheels 4/5 Years ago and was also warned against them.
I would go for OZ or BBS, they have some really nice tidy wheels, Techarts are good but heavy, RUF and Sportec have a good wheel, HRE make some great wheels but some can be a bit to delicate for our roads... have a look around the forums.

I agree with him dont downgrade your cars performance by adding extra weight!!!

Most of the latest Gen 2 Turbos will have the lwt Spyder centre-lock wheels. I'd go for something that looks like these to maintain the factory 'original' appearance and update the look of your Turbo. As said though, watch the weight.

Hi,

i have never been a big fan of the turbo wheel due to the chrome finish. The wheel i thought looked the best was the Champion RS171, followed closely by HRE P43. The dealership here in Dubai told me that if fitted they would invalidate the whole warranty !.

To fix the problem i had the standard wheel painted matte black last week. I have to say it transforms both the wheel and the look of the car. Wish i had done it from day one. My car is GT silver.

Rgds.
