My ECU doesn't have a socketed EEPROM
Does this mean i've got a landie ECU, or
do some TVR's have soldered chips?
(95 chim BTW)

My 1995 TVR Chimaera 400HC had a socketed EPROM in the Lucas 14CUX ECU. (Before it was all removed and replaced with a fully mappable system!)

Makes me suspicious that mine's been swapped
for a land rover unit

You are spot on, thats a Landie or Range Rover unit with the wrong chip in it. It needs a socket fitted and the correct chip.
