Hi

Had a quick search but can't find an answer to this. Probably looking at a 2005 Panda 1.1 Active this weekend as a spare/shopping car and would welcome some advice on what to look for.

What is the recommended cambelt change interval on this engine? How much might it cost at an independant garage?

Thanks

John

Change belt and associated tensioners, etc at 36,000 miles.

Cambelt kit should be around £30 all in, more in you want to replace auxiliary belts as well.

Typically costs around £140-200 at Alfa/Fiat independent.

For parts alone, http://www.shop4parts.co.uk/index.cfm?action=catal...

That's great. Thanks.

Is it also time related e.g. 36k or 4 years, whatever comes sooner?

IIRC the official advice was 5 years; just changed mine on the punto at 5 years but she had only done 31000 miles.

That's the information I needed! The car I might go to see tomorrow is 2005 with 35,000 miles. Ripe for a cambelt change methinks?

Many thanks.
