Hi,

I let my younger cousin (15 years old) wash my red Ferrari 360 last weekend - BIG MISTAKE!!

I noticed after he had finished that they were ever so slight white dulled marks near the Ferrari emblem just on the back of the car.

After Lots of interrogation he finally admitted to using a dish scourer to remove the tiny black brake dust dots!! - What an idiot!!

Now the problem is not too bad in the shade.. Now the sun is out though it really shows the scuffs and the hairline scratches.

What is the best course of actions here? Complete respray? Or can it be touched up? Or get a rear challenge grill? Im happy with the red back just don't want it to look bad!!

Please, advise welcome!!

Bodyshop or decent detailer will be able to flat and re-polish that for you smile

Quid says it's about 5 minutes before someone asks if it was you rather than a 15 year old wink

Depending on how deep the scratches are a good detainer should be able to sort that out for you. If not then I'm afraid you're probably looking at a respray.

No by detailer they mean someone like kds etc who clean cars but they are very VERY particular and very good at getting swirls and marks out of paintwork.

www.detailingworld.com

Go there have a look at what some of the people can do....

Thanks you biggrin

A good detailer willbe able to view/inspect your car and tell you very quickly if it needs painting or can be machine polished out or even wet sand and machine polished out thumbup

For your area look here has all the detailers grouped together by location

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

This will show you what can be done on very bad paint work really worth looking at the pictures thats IF you are into clean extra shiny cars .

Didn't a PHer do the same thing to their Gallardo not that long ago? I think a detailer polished it out. Worth a search through the archives.

Use 3M finesse-it(find it on ebay) works a treat on swirl marks and light scratches without being over abrasive use with micro fiber cloths by hand or get yourself a decent 240v polisher and do the whole car for that totally swirl free finish.
finish off with some decent carnuba wax stand back and admire job done.
sorry...beat him with a large stick job done.
