After some of the slatings going on here today I am slightly reluctant to post this, and also I am not trying to start another 993/996 debate.

But the current owner of my old 996 contacted me me to let me know that the car was featured in this months Total 911. I am receiving this mag at the moment thanks to the 3 issues for a pound deal that someone posted on here recently and it was great to see it again.

Just thought I'd share as it made for quite interesting reading. He was considering swapping his (my old) 996 C4S for a 993 C4S

Great to read a positive comparison of the 996 for once - and the following article by John Boggiano was positive too - 'bout time too.

Interesting read.
I agree with it, i owned a 993C4S and looks and sound aside it was the most boring 911 i have owned, preferred the Supersport i owned after if it and before it if i'm honest.
Always loved the look of a 996C4S and with the switchable exhaust IMO still the best sounding.
I'd keep the 10k in the bank and have a 996C4S or be sensible and just opt for a 996 turbo, but as the owner states thats another story.

The photography for that feature was done by //Dean

I think that it is the scan that makes the lighting look blown out, as it would not be like Dean at all to not have top notch photography smile

Nice car also smile

Could well be the scanner. It was done very quickly with a low quality 3 in 1 type scanner.

Apologies to the photographer for not doing it justice. They look pretty good in the mag!

It would have been better if they could make their minds up whether its a C2 or C4 though, the typos had me cringing.

With respect Jon: do you live in a hole? hehe

Notwithstanding the Gen 1 997 4S, the red reflector strip is a Carerra 4S signature for the water-cooled cars.
