Removing fuse 22 - Help needed!
Discussion
Hi
Picked up my MY10 V8V last week and absolutely love it!
Just had it detailed and protected by Auto Finesse - great guys and a great job!
Have decided I need to get fuse 22 out - have watched the DMS video but is the MY10 V8V different as once I’ve removed the air compressor there is a metal brace underneath it - do I have to remove this to get to the fuse box or has the fuse box location moved?
Any ideas
Photos will follow hopefully later today as it’s the 1st day of sunshine!
Thanks

Hi simon I believe from your previous posts that your car is a roadster so the fuse box is located on the opposite side,
I will up knowledge base soon to reflect the difference but here you are for now,
In the left hand corner you will see a carpet panel,
remove this simply lifts out
then you will see the fuse box
remove and enjoy
remove the lid fuse 22 is indicated by the blue tool, so as you look at the fuse box it is the top left hand yellow fuse

A bit of a thread come back.
I found thread very helpful when trying to locate the fuse box on the left hand side of my car.
All I can say is Fuse 22 removed and the extra induction work from the n400 upgrade on my car =
(This sounds better than my old V8 RS4 Cab, even if it had a Miltek exhaust on)
I'll get some pics up soon, as soon as I stop having fun and it stops raining!
Cheers

Amazes me that as a nation we still seem incapable of teaching children basic English.Edited by Neil1300R on Tuesday 8th May 22:22
Hi new to this! I agree with amnpg person,i"m old in school in my thinking regarding the valves. I think they should be left alone however surely having a switch fitted allowing the valve's to be operated manually when needed has to be better for all, sometimes we don't want the sound all the time.
As this is my first post please be kind to me!!

Indeed, to each his own. The bypass valves are there to meet noise regulations so removing the fuse just makes the car sound as it should. I have a switch and recommend having one but removing the fuse shouldn't be regarded as tampering with something to the detriment of the car. It is really making the car sound as it was designed to sound. As this is my first post please be kind to me!!

I've built myself a switch and I haven't even got the car yet Welcome to the forum
And that's the irony. Car makers don't really want to do this stuff - add bits to make their cars dance like show ponies to meet some EU regulation, but they have to.
Taking out Fuse 22 is not second guessing the manufacturer, it's ignoring the EU. I'm not really against the regulations, I get that they are important, it's just that the tests are circumvented by manufacturers designing bits that allow the car to pass the test without necessarily complying with what the test was meant to achieve.
For instance, emissions tests - most cars during their life do not emit what the test says they do because the design brief is to get a good test result not produce a car with low emissions.
