My excuse for this is that I'd just driven 800 miles in two days to see my dad in hospital so be gentle with the pi$$ taking.

Topped up the girlfriends car with oil as normal, then thought I'd do my car (not the Vette, it's a Saxo). Without checking I added a splash of screenwash before realising my numpty error.

Question - will this cause serious problems? It's due an oil change which I'll do sooner rather than later but until then should I be afraid?

Any water based product will sink to the bottom of your sump the alcohol in the screenwash will disolve in your oil.....change the oil asap and put some flushing agent through it too!

Doubt any lasting damage, but Id change the oil asap.
Dont forget the whole idea of the PCV is to remove moisture etc from the crankcase and water should "boil" off.
Id depends on what "splash" means.. If it was 5ml then fine, if you mean 500ml, then change immediately smile

It was about 50ml I guess. It was as much as it took for me to realise it wasn't oil. Literally, tip bottle, realise, stop. Going through the funnel it was less than a seconds worth.

Will get it changed ASAP though. Cheers.
