S-Type R Brake pad change

My dad has an S-Type R and I am going to change the pads for him, front and rear, for the rears do I need a tool to prise open the brakes or not? Is it an easy job?

Electronic park brake actuator needs to be powered back for the rears. Not sure how you do it wihtout the special tool. Otherwise, is nothing special should have no problems.

I have also been told that the Brembo front bakes, dont have pads you have to buy the full caliper, Anyone know if this is correct and whats involved with changing them??

They fit Brembo's to the XKR and XJR they have pads, someone must be talking bo**oks

The calipers were £1000 each 5 years ago, so I do think you'll find they need changing every time the pads wear out.

Its likely someone had a pad change and the dealer found the calipers seized and reported they needed replacing also, so customer remembered pad change = new calipers. Not the norm at all.
