Afternoon,

Last year there was a raft of silly cheap deals on PCH / PCP that seem to have all dried up.

I'm looking for something reasonably interesting at c£200 - £250 a month as a runabout / 2nd car .....

See all the obvious deals like the £160 pm Mito and the stuff on Lings cars, but anyone seen anything else i should look at.

Thanks in advance smile

Dibs

There's the odd one about but there aren't as many very cheap Contract Hire deals as there were.

Also the Personal Contract market has shrunk as many of the big funders have pulled out.

For £250 you might just get a Clio 200 Cup (not Clio 200 with cup pack). I'm getting a Clio 200 with cup pack, recaros and metallic paint for just over £300 per month on a 3 yr PCP deal with minimum deposit (£300).

Twingo RS would be £200-£250 easily I imagine.

This is through Renault.

How much deposit do you have/want to put down?
Good point.

I see everything in 3+35 terms but that's starting to change.

seems expensive to me

you can get an Audi TT for around £260 plus VAT.
On a 3 year PCP deal with no deposit? That sounds (too) cheap.

Depends what you mean by a good deal - one with a sensible GMFV that will provide equity at the end or one with an unrealistically high GMFV at the end that you will just walk away from.

If its the latter theres probably not many around, VW / Audi seem to pegging GMFVs at 40-45% after three years and 30,000 miles

Seat are offering 0% finace on the Ibiza SC 1.4 Sport and Volvo is offering the same on the C30 meaning the 1.6S comes in on budget.

It's totally different from last year. I got mine just over a year ago on a 2yr contract lease deal direct from Honda for quite a good price (first time leasing so was a bit wary of the online deals).

Mate of mine is looking to get roughly the same car and is struggling to get anywhere close to my deal and he is looking on the net.

4.5% APR on Fiat 500's atm at Fiat dealers. With the still excellent GMFV they're giving them away without discounting.

Fewer offers around as supply has been cut back to meet up with demand.

Also, deposits have risen e.g. now 6 + 35 rather than 3 + 35.

Suggest you also look at www.contracthireandleasing.com

There are sometimes great offers which crop up but you need to keep your eye out as they can be very short periods. Have a look towards the end of the month when targets are needed to be met.

i don't think is the norm as such, although it is becoming more common in advertised rates. You can pay whatever deposit you want anyway, doesn't have to be 3x or 6x - just work it out.

Not strictly correct that, the underwriters might decide to impose a 6x deposit upon consideration of the risk. Our competitors are starting to advertise 6+35 more and more and it's something we may have to do because people only seem to see the monthly rental. Seems a bit sneaky to me though...

Anyone agree?

OK I concede, if they demanded a certain minimum deposit then you can't pay less... but I do not believe that 6x was now the accepted minimum. I thought this was just used in ads to make the payments look cheaper. Sneakily.
