Fuchs Wheels Back For 911

Porsche makes Sport Classic wheels available for 'ordinary' 997s

Mmmmm....
Mmmmm....
The alloy wheels that epitomised the Porsches of the 60s, 70s and 80s are making a comeback on mainstream 911s, Porsche has revealed.

The Fuchs-style alloys first re-appeared on the 911 Sport Classic at the Frankfurt show last year. That near-perfect melange of new and retro was limited to 250 units, but now Porsche has decided to give the ordinary 911-owning masses a taste of Fuchs-style goodness.

Unlike the iconic originals, the new Sport Classic alloys (they take their name from the limited-run model) are cast rather than forged aluminium, but still get the classic black five-spoke centre section and polished rim.

The 19-inch wheels fit all 997 models and come wrapped in 235/35 ZR 19 (front) and 305/30 ZR 19 (rear) rubber. Porsche will sell them to you for 5569 euros (just under £4800).

Pretty nice, but there's some very special BBS wheels out there for less which are much nicer smile

Cant help but think they look a bit too retro on the modern porks

Should of left this wheel 'exclusive' to the Sport Classic. Would be interesting to hear someones views who had just paid £140k for one of these cars!

I'm sure on the back of this news that the "cal look" custom VW beetle community are now buying cleenex by the truck load......a legendary wheel by far.....good to see that Porsche are keeping some of the original 911 DNA with this wheel.

Warm fuzzy memories of polishing those lovely rims on my old 3.2.

I think they'd look sooo cool on the newer 911's.

I really like them but £4.8k is above my pay grade for a set of alloys. Ouch.
