I think you just did more for the good name of TVR on this site than anybody else on the planet.
As a PR professional my advice to TVR would be to get this story in every newspaper in the land.
Maybe that would go some way towards countering the "poor reliability" "useless service" "shoddy customer care" reputation the marque has suffered from of late.
You are an Angel, and full marks to PW and your dad for responding so brilliantly.

Andy 400se - A proud TVR owner!

That really is excellent news!

Fantastic work all round, but especially to Gaffer and her Dad for sorting this. Superb and something you wouldnt catch just about any other manufacturer doing this sort of thing. Marvellous!!

I think Ted is worth a mention as well for without Pistonheads then this probably wouldnt have happened.

I agree with Andy, they should be shouting this from the roof tops.

Lovely story.

Matt.

I'm not sure if Claire said anything about the factory paying, did she? I'm presuming the insurance company will still be expected to cough up.

Still, great news indeed, and a superb PR opportunity for both TVR and Pistonheads. I hope both parties capitalise on it.

Hang on, hang on ... hate to be the voice of reason in this instance and that is a brilliant offer and yes, TVR should get all the national daily press and even the bloody TV round to get all the details, but ... it's up to Kenneth.

Gotta remember he may not want one after what has happened. He may fancy a change to a Tamora. Nice to know the offer from Blackpool is there though – but they are selling another £35k car after all – and it's only a PR success if Kenneth has another Griffith isn't it?

Or am I just a cynic?

Well, yeah, you're right. Sorry, we were all getting a bit pre-emptive, weren't we? Still, that's car enthusiasts for you - always getting enthusiastic.

Yes it is upto Kenneth but the offer is there to build him another Griff considering they are no longer in Production.

If he wants a Tamora thats fine. OK..?

Sorry I've been away from my desk doing work stuff for most of the morning, looks like I'm last to find out....

Good stuff, I can't thank you enough Gaffer, please pass on my thanks to your Dad and everyone else involved.

I really have to think about what I'm going to do, although I fear it might come down to what the insurance company dream up as a quote for a replacement car.

I agree though, this has to be chalked up as a major success to PH and TVR!!!

KNeilson, you did say that your insurance company would replace New For Old as it is less than a year old!!

Top marks to TVR though!

And PH!

I can't believe you were considering a Hot Hatch!

Sorry I was a bit unclear in my previous post, what I meant by the amount the insurance company will come up with was referring to the cost of insuring a new vehicle. Replacing old for new shouldn't be an issue as that's what my policy states, at least now we know it's possible!

Well done to all on this one! Fantastic news.

I'll try not say nasty things about Peter Wheeler's customer care and build quality programmes any more ;-)

Maybe the arsonist could come forward to claim his 'reward', as well? I'm sure I could find a little replacement petrol for him. And a match.

Kneilson,

This is fantastic news if thats what you choose to do. Either way it is teastament to the power of PH's. It would make for good publicity for TVR for once aswell.

If all works out then you would have a car specifically built for you with an amazing story behind it.

The last ever Griffith made, and the reasons... Number 101 of 100 if you like.

May help with residuals !!!

All the best.

Kenneth,

If your insurance company start giving you grief I suggest you put Pistonheads onto them, that should make them quake in their boots! Tell us who the broker is and it's either top marks to them (and PW) or it's a black mark for the future eh! And regards premiums, well you did say you are moving to a more 'select' area didn't you.

All the best Rich...
