Hi,

I'm supposed to be cutting down on carbs and sugar ( health related not a weird diet ). Yes i know i shouldnt drink any alcohol but if one was forced to choose..

which has more carbs / sugar - beer or lager? Does the strength make a difference? I take it wine would be better than both? is guiness any better / worse?

Thanks

Lager is a type of beer! Do you mean Ale or Bitter? There a few low carb beers available!

Not all lager has sugar in it.

Pilsner Urquell for example - no sugar

There tends not to be that many low carb bitter/ale type beers as even the ones which tend to be low sugar are high carbs! the lowest are the light largers such as Holsten Light and Coors light though the are a bit 'light' on the taste side too!
