I have heard that on the PS3 its not good to host a match as your kill zones for some reason are larger. How do I know if I am hosting or not?

Also when I connect to a game is there a chance to see a list of which game I want to connect too or it picks the most suitable match?

When the game starts up and the count down begins you will see everyones name (as if you press select mid game) and the host will be the one with the maximum green bars at the beginning then everyone else will eventually get full bars, if your connection is good enough. I hope that makes sense.

As for games, it's random.

Never heard that your kill zones are bigger but when your the host you get host advantage which means everyone connects to you so you get an advantage. You might see people a fraction before they see you etc.

But whle ive being playing black ops and been host ive noticed that you might not get full green bars while others do confused. I think they have put a patch to try and stop host advantage but may have gone to far because sometimes when your host it can be a pain to kill people.

Being host on black ops is actually a disadvantage, as your connections bandwidth is used up saving everyone elses game for theatre mode. nerd

interesting.

I had someone send me a message saying he had "filed and compainted" against me as my host was lagging the other players out, acompanied but the usual 12 yr old insults of course.

Now I actually know what he was talking about it scares me that some people will take it so seriously considering you have no choice in being host or not!

I had exactly the same thing. Was in a a game. Get message saying ' Leave now'

I ignored it.

Then got a nother message saying 'Leave or I ban' followed by 'Enjoy your ban'

Last message from him was 'FO and learn to be a proper host'

So can they ban you for hosting?

Also how do you message someone in a middle of a match?

I doubt they can ban you for being a bad host - it's not like you get to choose is it?

What makes me laugh is the person getting upset could probably find another match in under a minute. I'm sure the moderators must get a billion of these ban requests from players, and one complaining about being a poor host isnt going to even register!

Re messaging in game - I'm on xbox boxedin - so it's a case of check the leaderboard - highlight name, send message...

No they can't ban you for being host. You have no control over it so banning you whould be ridiculous!
