Mercedes Corrosion Warranty

Mercedes claim a lifetime corrosion warranty, however this applies to specific areas, such as the chassis, which will easily outlive the engine.
Bodywork is for eight years, or at least it used to be in the days of the W210 E-Class (95-02) and W203 C-Class (01~07). Other models of the day were subjected to this 8 years warranty.
I'sure someone in the know will be able to say if this has now changed.
If you have bodywork corrosion after this 8 year period, it has been heard of that Mercedes dealerships will either pay for the work outright, or give a grace payment towards the work. However in these cases, I believe the cars had full MB Dealer service histories - again, if I'm wrong someone will correct me on this point
Corrosion warranties are not applicaple to the alloy wheels, however.
That's pretty much the case in it's simplest form.
What car, and what type of corrosion have you got? It may help others with an answer

It's not really an issue, it's just that I bought a 1998 E240 and there is some surface corrosion over the front wheel arches and where the lock is on the boot. It only came to light when a mate looked at the car and said that you could get a Merc garage to pay for it to be repaired as they had a life warranty on corrosion. I thought at the time he was talking b

Corrosion though the panels is covered for 30yrs. mercedes will repair surface corrosion as "goodwill" for 8 years, so you're way outside that.ks but I'm to polite to say soThey also won't entertain claims unless you've owned the car for a while - seems to vary between 6 and 12 mths, to stop people buying cars cheap then getting MB to refurb them.
The car ideally needs a full and continuous MB service history - again, they will sometimes repair under goodwill but MB make the point that if they'd seen the car reqularly then they could have picked the corrosion up earlier. I think that's b
