Strangely fascinating! Amusing to look back through what we thought was 'high tech' not that long ago. Quite a few things in there that cost pennies are worth a fortune today also!

Crikey that is fantastic.

The strange thing is there is alot of stuff in there that is still around today or at least feels like you only through it in the bin not that long ago.

Makes it feel like 25 years ago is not all that long ago!

I'm looking at the tool section - there's loads! I never realised they were so car-maintenance focused. Timing strobes, Load levellers for engine cranes, and torque wrenches! And everything is in imperial too. Now where's my time machine?

I was 10 when this catalogue was out, and I can actually remember some of the items listed (and had them on my Christmas list...and got none of them irked )

Wowsers. Look at some of the "retro" watches. Very collectible now. If I had a time machine, I know how I'd make money... travel back to 1985...

and buy 1,000,000 Microsoft shares. fk cheap plastic watches. hehe

They are. Go to your local Thomsons Directory. Find "Argos". Now keep scanning down the As to Ann Summers... thumbup

Ha happy days.

Me and my brother used to play "flick open the catalogue at a random page and pick what you would have".

Simpler times before all this playstation, MDMA, bumsex and knifings.
