Dear all

A friend of mine has a 159 2.2 TI with 19" wheels and after 28,500 miles needs to replace his 11th and 12th tyres.

It has been back to Alfa and they have even enlisted Prodrive to cure the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, was it ever cured and how was it cured?

Thanks

Editted as I forgot to put the word miles in after 28,500

Much more info needed: where have ther 12 replacement tyres been fitted (all fronts? all rears? 8 fronts 4 rears?) and how were the tyres wearing (centre, edges, inner shoulder, outer shoulder or even wear).

I looked at a 159Ti about two years ago. Researching it showed that tyre wear was a common problem. Some said they had cured it by adjusting the camber. 3-4000m was often suggested.

Thanks guys, that is appalling I think and a real shame as it must put off potential buyers

Not as much as a blown engine or IMS failure...

It'd be a shame if it did - on the original settings, tyre wear was a big problem. On the revised settings, it seems not to be an issue in the vast majority of cases which makes you wonder if everyone is getting them 'corrected' correctly.

My 159 SW ti with 19" wheels needed the fronts replaced at about 13,000 and the rears at about 18,000
