He turns to go to Sainsbury's so I guess he's going for petrol so I follow him, he pulls up next to a pump so I jump out and introduce myself as a fellow griff owner, he seems pleased to see me and tells me he's only had it a week and is looking to go to local meets, join the TVR club etc.
Ah great says I, probably see you around then, he says yep, Oh and by the way that BM your driving used to be mine.
As I say it's a small world.

How about this little lot:
1. A certain PHer's garden backs onto mine.
2. I used to work on Oil Rigs with another PHer from Scotland.
3. I had a job interview recently, and I had been sailing with the guy interviewing me. I didn't get the job, but the guy who did was one of my former collegues.
4. When I sold my 530i, the guy who came to see it had bought my last car...a 928S2 and we ended up doing a swap.
It certainly is a small world, though I wouldn't want to have to paint it!

.Having been going to Le Mans with MarkB, not knowing him from Adam, except through tenuous friends-of-friends type links, for a few years, I just happened to mention this to my father. Now, MarkB has an extremely unusual name. My father goes "Oh, is his father called XYZ?", I say I'll find out. Only turns out our fathers used to know each other and go to watch racing and out for beers together in a group oh, 40-odd years ago!

I have a client that is 50 yards from the transport firm owned by one of the former keepers of my 390SE, 200 miles from where I live. One day I walked in and introduced myself. We had a good natter; by chance he had recently bought a 400SE from a certain TVR dealer.
Next day I was down in Joolz' neck of the woods so I dropped in for a yack. I mentioned the 400SE and he said "Oh yeah, I remember that one: I was ordered to fix it on the cheap." (I think he said 'fix'!!
)
I didn't pass that bit of info onto the other guy; last time I was up there I didn't see the 400SE and didn't have time for a yack anyway...
Note that this isn't a dig at Joolz or TVR dealers, just one of those odd coincidence stories!

I got talking to a Griff owner in a railway station car park a year or so ago. Mentioned that I had a Chimaera and he looked around and asked where it was and I said "oh, it's at home. I've got the Corrado with me today".
He asked if I posted on PH and when I said I did he asked if I was JonRB.
Suitably stunned, I asked how he knew to which he replied that he knew of only 1 PHer in Hampshire who had both a Chimaera and a Corrado.
It was beano500, BTW.

I read once that things with odds of a million to one or so happen to people several times a day, odds are weird things when analyzed. I dont understand the science or the logic, but odds are not what they seem.
When I started my new job last year, I got a new company mobile with a new number, the first call I got on it was from someone who had dialled a wrong number, but they happened to be someone I had worked with a few years earlier and had lost touch with and I was only talking about them with someone that very morning.
