Hi guys,

I will soon be buying an XKR (probably between a 07 reg to a 08) as soon as My 987 Boxster S is sold and whilst scanning the classifieds when really i should be doing some work i noticed there was a special edition XK60 released around 2008. It has a few tweaks, one being the special edition bodykit. I still plan on getting the XKR due to it being more powerful but i love the lines of the XK60 bodykit. So my question simply is this. Is it possible to buy and fit a XK60 bodykit to a XKR? I did a quick google search but came up with nothing. It is something i would definetly be interested in doing.

Thanks in advance

iirc the side skirts will fit but not the front and rear parts of the bodykit.

The XKR has a different front bumper and twin exhausts at the rear which wont fit in the XK60 rear bumper. Could probably be modified to fit though?

Matt is quite right, the XK60 'Style Pack' was meant only for the XK8, I think you might get away without changing the rear bumper as the new section simply goes over the top, but the rear exhaust would have to be changed to a single tip rather than quads.
The 5" square 'over tip' fits over the top of the original tail pipe, the side skirts are a simple swap, the front would have to be changed unless you opted to keep your front bumper and buy the RS front lip, a bit of a mish mash

I did this one not so long ago

It was a 2007 XKR, had a 2010/11 front put on it with RS parts and the XK60 side sills

Mind you I also did this to the older XK

And really something different

XKracer, the 2007 XKR with facelift front bumper and xk60 side skirts looks awesome! I prefer the looks of the quad exhaust on the XKR so would leave the back of the car as it is but would love to do what you did above.

May i ask how much it cost? parts plus fitting?

Cheers

I will have to give a guesstimate but around the £2K mark, I managed to get the front bumper complete with the grilles on Ebay for £250 delivered.

The sill covers were cheap, then there's the RS bits which are not so simple to get a hold of.

This is the back

XKRacer, that looks fantastic. Always wondered if it would be possible to fit the newer 2010/11 5 litre front on the 4.2 XKR. Can the rear lights be changed to the newer LED type as well?

Yes they can, it has been done a few times now but there is a bit of speculation over getting rid of the 'real light fault' on the dash. Some have got rid of it using resisitors but in my experience they simply to hot.

When I fitted the XF lights into the black XKR convertible I actualy fitted a bulb and holder in line, this seemed a better option to me as it was easy to hide in the box sections but also easily accessible if need be
