Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta any good????????

Evening all, Today I have had a letter from my insurance company stating its ok to swap my runflats for normal tyres.(best to be on the safe side)

So I will be needing some new tyres for the Z4 soon, been looking on the net for what tyres to get next.

Rear 255/35/18
Front 225/40/18

I have always been a fan of bridgestone potenza tyres but someone recomended
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (the tread patern is almost sexual)

So if you have used these tyres are they any good? or should i stick with potenza's.

They're good - grippy in the dry, excellent in the wet but they don't last long. Personally I'd go with the Hankook V12 EVO which has really impressed me lately.

Cheers, how long would you say they last, what sort of mileage? I get approx 8000 miles on potenza's. I would be happy if they do 8000 miles.

Yes they're tyres, black, round, reasonably priced. Work well on a zed. Others work better but cost more, your call. Unless you have serious skills or intend to track it heavily you'll be happy...

Never had the chance to run a set myself but consensus of internet opinions seems to be that they're actually very, very good for the majority of driving. They are softer then some other tyres, but that's one of the reasons they grip so well.

If you want to track the Z4 find a second set of wheels and some part worn tyres, the vreds will end up in shreds fairly quickly I would think.

They work very well on my Tuscan, and TVR's are very sensitive to tyre choice.....i.e crap ones will see you in a ditch very quickly.

These came fitted with our S type R, I have no receipts for tyres so I assume these have done the 19k the car has done, they appear to have plenty of tread left all round.
press they S button and they spin readily in the dry.

I've got these on my impreza and they work very well. They are described as a summer tyre rather than all season but I didn't have any issues over the winter with them.

All the MKV GTI brigade love these.

There are tyre tests where the compare favourably against the bigger brands too.

Run them all round on the M3. Very impressed, enough to put them on again when it was time for replacement.

I've not used them personally, but they get a good reputation around the Volvo T5 community.

There was a tyre test a few years ago where they were tested on a Golf GTI and they came 2nd only to the Goodyear F1 Assymmetrico (which was noisier).

I put them on my Z4M and was very impressed. Lasted well - dry gripped a bit better than standard and the wet grip was in a different league

You'll be happy then!

I'd expect 10k out of the Vreds and 14k out of the Hankooks. To get either under 8k I think you'd have to be trying.

Put 4 on my Megane F1 which were so much better than the Dunlops they replaced.

Just put 4 on my ST220.. Fantastic Tyres.

They've also got the bonus of quite a chunky bead round the rim, offers quite a lot if protection to the wheel.

Has anyone got first hand experience of them on a T5? I need new summer tyres on mine and the Vreds look very nice and have got quite good reviews, but as anyone with a T5 knows, they eat front tyres for breakfast.
