Huge Heffner

Tweaked Ford GT is no bunny

US tuner Heffner Performance has teamed up with Ford ‘living legends’ stylist Camilo Pardo to produce a one-off special edition Ford GT featuring subtle design tweaks apparently proposed by Pardo for production models of Ford’s iconic supercar.

The race-inspired styling mods include unique graphics and a ‘heritage racing inspired paintjob’, flat black BBS wheels, and a concept-style rear bumper. The car also features black-lipped side mirrors, matte black fuel filler and door latches, plus a unique interior with aluminium seat grommets and a chrome shifter.

Heffner’s side of the collaboration is a little less subtle – they bolted on a twin turbo performance kit allegedly good for 900bhp and a 150mph standing quarter mile speed.Heffner and Pardo first met in 2006 when the company modified Pardo’s first GT and the seeds for this collaboration were sown. A similar Heffner converted Ford GT took part in the Car and Driver 0-200-0 shoot-out, recording a time of less than 19 seconds.

This unique Special Edition car was revealed at the Ford GT National Rally III in September – and was snapped up within seconds for an undisclosed sum by a GT fanatic who already had four Ford GTs in his collection. Heffner Performance says it hopes to collaborate with Pardo on another project soon.
