Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC
Lotus fans outside the UK who missed out on the latest special limited edition Elise are in luck – the company has reportedly decided to change the limit. The Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC was to be a run of just 25 cars for the UK and Ireland but these have all been snapped up. To satisfy buyers in Europe another 25 will be built for export.
The original run of 25 relates to the number of Grand Prix races Jim Clark won throughout his career. Arguably one of the most naturally gifted drivers of all time, Clark won the F1 World Championship twice for Team Lotus in 1963 and in 1965. He was also the first Briton to win the Indianapolis 500.
The Clark Type 25 Elise SC draws upon many styling cues from the Type 25 Formula 1 car that Jim Clark raced to win the World Championship in 1963. It has a removable hard top as standard and is finished in British Racing Green with a yellow stripe along the centre.
An additional 25 examples of the special-edition Lotus are available now in Europe for €44,100 before local taxes, which translates to about €54k in Germany, France and Italy.
